The Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation, Inc. (RVPF) was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1988 with the mission to promote the preservation of the historic, natural, and cultural resources of the Roanoke Valley. Since then, the RVPF has made significant contributions to the preservation of the Roanoke Valley’s history, historic buildings and landscapes through education, advocacy, and technical support.

By financially supporting RVPF, you not only are helping to preserve the Roanoke Valley’s past. You are also investing in our valley’s vibrant present and more sustainable future. For each and every donation received helps RVPF preserve the historic places that represent the heart of our communities, the places that define who we are and from where we have come, and the places that hopefully will continue into a promising future for all generations to enjoy, love and appreciate. Your support helps save the places where the Roanoke Valley’s history happened, and don’t forget that historic preservation is one of the best ways to help create thriving neighborhoods, foster a sense of community, and promote economic development.

Contributions made to the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are tax deductible in most cases. Please check with your tax advisor for information regarding your specific situation.

DONATE TO FRIENDS OF WASHINGTON PARK HISTORIC EVANS COTTAGE

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Friends of Washington Park through the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation’s secure online portal to help raise funds to stabilize and restore the park’s historic caretaker’s Evans Cottage. All donations should be made payable to RVPF and noted as “for the Evans Cottage”. In addition, know that all funds raised, no matter the size, will help as 100% of all funds raised go directly toward the stabilization and restoration of this important piece of Roanoke’s history and our African American neighborhood.

Together, our success in preserving Roanoke’s Washington Park Caretaker’s Cottage will also raise awareness to help ensure that the adjacent park’s open space is developed in a way that complements this historic cottage, the Washington Park neighborhood and our community spaces.
